Fashion models in their bathrooms

elle-russia-november-2010-valentina

So did I get the title right to grab your attention? Today’s post was inspired by our on-going bathroom renovation project and my love for beautiful fashion editorials. I combined the two and came up with a small collection of images where bathrooms became a background for some of the most gorgeous fashion models.

Some of the most beautiful Vogue covers

vogue italia linda

I’ve started a photo album on Facebook to collect my favourite fashion magazines covers and wanted to share a few here just to highlight such an event. For me, a good cover is the one that doesn’t feature a celebrity and awakens positive emotions in me. Unfortunately these days an unforgettable magazine cover is such a rarity that I can remember most of them by heart.

Top 10 Spring 2012 campaigns

louis-vuitton-spring2012-campaign

After reading a story about Vogue’s favourite Spring/Summer 2012 campaigns that was published on their website, I decided to create my own list that, as it turns out, is somewhat different from the one offered by the “fashion bible”, particularly when it came to choosing the Roberto Cavalli ads that I’ve already blogged about. I also found it interesting that they mentioned Gisele being the most featured model having landed three campaigns including Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Givenchy where as I was under impression that this season was particularly good for Saskia de Brauw and Arizona Muse. Still relatively new, the girls were chosen by some of the biggest names in the industry and became faces of several brands. While Arizona Muse was chosen by, lets just do some maths here, Louis Vuitton Cruise, Fendi, Isabel Marant, KARL by Karl Lagerfeld, Massimo Dutti and, lets not forget, Next, Saskia starred in Chanel, MaxMara, Loewe, KARL by Karl Lagerfeld and Zara.

Don’t get me wrong, I adore Gisele and think that she is one of the most gorgeous models out there, but I used to be an accountant… A job title that sums things up. I also believe that it’s worth learning a few new names now and then rather than going with the obvious.

Now, the grumpy bit of over, I would like to present you with my choice of the most gorgeous campaigns for the upcoming season. They made it to the post because I like images that draw me in like an interesting story, a new beautiful experience, and make garments and accessories look desirable. I adore the sharpness and simplicity of black & white photos, the Longchamp ad that makes me smile every time I see it, and the macaroon sweetness and ice-cream coolness of colourful pastels that give me bubbles of endorphins. I think each of these images really is worth a thousand words (and will, most likely, generate even more in revenue).

P.S. I loved this Prabal Gurung campaign, too, but wanted to limit my favourites to 10, however, many of you also seem to be in love with it, so here we are. Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 campaign, by popular demand.

Oh! My Dog

longchamp-campaign-spring2012-oh-my-dog

Being a dog person I fell in love with a new Spring 2012 Longchamp campaign before I even noticed the bags (or anything else, to be honest). I love weimaraners for their silvery fluidity and grace so much so that the breed has always been among my top 5. Just in case you are wondering which ones also made it to the list, they are English cockers (having one sleeping in my lap as I type – very heavy indeed, but I love this boy), poodles (as explained here), dobermans and vizslas.

The campaign shot by Dane Shitagi and filmed and choreographed by Bianca Li feels so fresh, funny, sweet and chic, very feminine and incredibly positive. It’s full of smiles and beauty to be point of being absolutely infectious. Even if you are not a dog person, or a bag lover, or a resident of New York.
