Weekend sign off

Do you remember that picture of Julie Ordon and her gorgeous hair-do? Well, I’ve got great news for you today. I was actually lucky enough to find that very issue of Glamour AND see a similar style tutorial on TV as shown by Richard Ward (yes, the very same stylist who did Kate’s wedding hair). There’s no need for professional tools or hair pieces here and, oh joy, you don’t really need to be super-skilled in hairstyling department either.

Version 1 (from Glamour UK November 2005):

* To create a spin on the 60s high fashion hair put all your hair in a high pony tail and secure with a hairband.

* Divide the ponytail into two halves horizontally, backcomb the bottom half and pin it into a “pad”, then backcomb the top section, spritz with hairspray and pin it, not too carefully, over the bun.

* Secure with a few pins if necessary.

Version 2 (by Richard Ward):

* Put all your hair in a high pony tail and secure with a hairband.

* Now stick the ponytail through the hair doughnut and secure the doughnut with two pins – on goes through the top and the other one – from the bottom upwards.

* Gently backcomb your hair to add extra volume and wrap it around the doughnut. Secure with pins and some hair spray.
