Julie Ordon as Gucci girl in Elle Italia

elle italia december2011 julie ordon david burton 3

I do have a soft spot for Julie Ordon. I think she is naturally beautiful, infectiously positive, absolutely adorable and had an amazing smile. Every time she appears in a magazine, I feel very happy. Frankly, I think the girl deserves a lot more exposure. Doesn’t she look gorgeous in this story from the December 2011 issue of Elle Italia?

Back

elle-spain-apr2011-julie-or

Did you miss me? I certainly missed you. Leaving the blogosphere for a whole week felt like quitting cold turkey and I wasn’t prepared to do that. I confess I did read your comments whenever I had a chance and it was wonderful. And I did visit your blogs, too, but didn’t comment, otherwise my tired eyes would literally pop out.

Last week was productive and felt like a dreamy hallucination. It still does, from time to time, and I have to pinch myself just to calm down.

I’ve been to London where I felt like a tourist (yet again), but managed to find my way around and was migraine-free after an entire day of running places and talking intensely when required. I completed 98% of my annual paperwork, worked with clients, enjoyed a lovely dessert in a cosy cafe, tested new make-up products and read a beauty book.

Naturally, everything will eventually be documented here, so stay tuned.

It feels good to be back. And, although it’s hard to believe, it’s November already.

Weekend sign off

elle_france_april2010_1

Do you remember that picture of Julie Ordon and her gorgeous hair-do? Well, I’ve got great news for you today. I was actually lucky enough to find that very issue of Glamour AND see a similar style tutorial on TV as shown by Richard Ward (yes, the very same stylist who did Kate’s wedding hair). There’s no need for professional tools or hair pieces here and, oh joy, you don’t really need to be super-skilled in hairstyling department either.

Version 1 (from Glamour UK November 2005):

* To create a spin on the 60s high fashion hair put all your hair in a high pony tail and secure with a hairband.

* Divide the ponytail into two halves horizontally, backcomb the bottom half and pin it into a “pad”, then backcomb the top section, spritz with hairspray and pin it, not too carefully, over the bun.

* Secure with a few pins if necessary.

Version 2 (by Richard Ward):

* Put all your hair in a high pony tail and secure with a hairband.

* Now stick the ponytail through the hair doughnut and secure the doughnut with two pins – on goes through the top and the other one – from the bottom upwards.

* Gently backcomb your hair to add extra volume and wrap it around the doughnut. Secure with pins and some hair spray.

Summer inspirations

vogue_uk_june2011_8

Some random visual inspirations for the summer season. Textures, shapes, colours and patterns, clothes and accessories, hair styles and make-up must have shades… oh, yes – and shoes, of course!

P.S. I do realise that Chanel hair accessory is actually from the fall collection, but it was too pretty to leave it till then – wouldn’t you agree?
