We say “the bag” – we think 2.55 or Birkin, we say “the scarf” – we think Hermes and when it comes to “the dress”, we think “the wrap”.
Created by Diane von Furstenberg, this dress is probably the most iconic piece in fashion clothing history because it never goes out of fashion helping women all over the world discover their feminine, confident, sexy, coquettish and beautiful side by simply slipping on a soft silky garment secured by a tightly wrapped sash belt.

The idea of the wrap dress came to Diane after she saw Julie Nixon Eisenhower wearing a DVF wrap top and skirt on a television show. The outfit just wanted to be made into one piece easy-to-wear dress.
Spring 2004, Fall 2003, Fall 2004
The first dress in a wood grain print saw the world in 1973 – a few yards of fabric that would fit a female body as if the wrap was made just for her - highlighting the bust, slimming down the waist, lifting up the bottom and allowing complete freedom of movement. The dress could be worn day to night. Slipping on in the morning within seconds allowed women to look gorgeous at work, but adding beautiful jewellery and heels would instantly turn the same piece into a seductive outfit suitable for a special occasion.

Every season a new set of patterns would emerge. Not only the colours were striking and unique, the patterns themselves were designed to compliment different women and their mood and unique personality. The inspiration came from Diane’s past in a form of a beautiful signature, scarf pattern, post card stamps, graphic images or nature. The animal prints made their debut in the fall of 1974. They became so popular that Diane’s driver would count them walking down the streets, from prep schools to office buildings to glamorous restaurants.

Every dress carried a bit of designer’s soul in it and this is one of the reasons why it was such a fascinating piece to own. When something is made with so much love, thought and care, it’s impossible not to feel special in it.
Spring 2004, Spring 2005, Spring 2006
The wrap stole hearts of millions of women all over America and then – the world. It was associated with the most wonderful memories and special moments. Todays wrap is essentially the same dress that comes in luxurious jersey silks rather than original basic cotton fabrics. Its shorter length is perfect to show off just the right amount of leg and a modern collar is smaller to make it look fresh rather than vintage.
Spring 2007, Resort 2011, Spring 2011
It’s a timeless piece for a woman who wants to feel like a woman because once you put on the wrap, there will be no way back to unisex. The dress doesn’t only transform the way you look – it definitely changes the way you feel and act, too.
Find the perfect wrap dress and fall in love with yourself.
