Weekend sign off

Charity is a strange thing… As Nietzsche once said "it makes you feel guilty because you think you might not have given enough or if you choose not to give anything at all” (excuse my very rough interpretation of his quote)

Another thing I don’t really like is to tell other people that I just gave a donation to a charity. Makes me feel rather uncomfortable.

On the other hand, just like most women, I do enjoy a bit of shopping and it gives me even more pleasure knowing that some money I spend on clothes will be used for a good cause.

This is why I wanted to share the latest news from Uniqlo with you today. This weekend the company is launching a limited collection of t-shirts with a message to support Japan designed by 10 celebrities including Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Nicole Kidman, Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham, Cyndi Lauper, Orlando Bloom, Charlize Theron, Blake Lively and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Uniqlo will donate the profit of approximately 100 million yen (Approximately £750,000) to the Japanese Red Cross Society through the sale of these T-shirts at its stores around the world, to back recovery efforts in North Eastern Japan.

What could be a better excuse for some on-line shopping?

The collection will be available exclusively on-line from 1 am Saturday 25 June 2011. Let me know which one/ones you would like to get. Personally, I am loving Alber Elbaz and Blake Lively ones the most.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

always yours,
