Aren’t those colours and textures just dreamy? This campaign is one of my most favourite Lanvin advertisements ever and I decided to use it to open my fashion week dedicated to everything Lanvin, from history of the house and it’s creator to the magic of a Lanvin dress that really does make a woman feel beautiful.

Style is what you make it. We are all different and beautiful in our own ways. Many of us have different techniques to display how we want to present ourselves. Some people are very "structured" "prim and proper" and live by a colour scheme while others go wild with mixing patterns and have the "unpolished" and "don't care" look. It's all about where you get your inspiration from and your personality in general.

Oh, weekend, weekend… Just wonderful. Early morning workout, walks with pupster, a trip to one (or two) of the National Trust places and a lot of relaxation. Our own garden is looking so beautiful these days, too, and sitting there with a book or having a meal or a drink feels very special, like a treat.
I pained my toes gorgeous red to match new oh-so-Lanvin flats and hope it will be warm enough for a summer strawberry-covered dress that’s also been waiting patiently to be worn.
The upcoming week is going to be about another designer that I love, so be prepared to read and browse.

It’s been ages since I wrote a post about one of my favourite fashion-related books, so it’s time to fill in the gap.
I picked Fashion Babylon back in 2006 after reading Hotel Babylon, which I really liked. Written by British author and journalist Imogen Edwards-Jones and Anonymous, Fashion Babylon is a witty and easy-to-read-impossible-to-put-down novel that sounds more like a daily dairy of a London fashion designer.
According to Edwards-Jones her top three sources were “all very high profile and very much at the top of the fashion world” with one of them working in Vogue.
It’s a must read if you crave all the gossip and facts behind glamorous facade of the fashion industry, want to hear stories about IT bags and people, where and when you need to be if you dream of becoming the next top model, how much your favourite Chanel perfume really cost, and that vintage isn’t just a pretty dress from the past and cabbage isn’t just a crunchy vegetable.
The things you discover aren’t something a fashion insider would just share with you, unless, of course, you are best mates, so Fashion Babylon really is a great book for all the mere mortals (including yours truly) with insatiable curiosity for fashion.

I’m sort of thinking that this editorial is like a much-needed answer to US Vogue’s sugar coated, airbrushed, stiff and totally unnatural-looking SJP story that made me cringe.
I’ve adored Mila since I saw her in The Black Swan. I honestly think she is the best thing about the movie (of course I have to mention Vincent Cassel here, too) not only because the girl is beautiful, from Ukraine (read: former USSR) and created a great on-screen character, but also because I have a particular dislike for mediocre Ms Portman after she suddenly found Galliano “disgusting” – I keep wondering if she burnt all the clothes the designer’s given her over the time they worked together… Aaaaaaaaaaanyway… Back to Mila.
Isn’t she just so warm, gorgeous and utterly sexy?! Got to love the girl and the chemistry between her and Justin in this editorial.
