The genius of Karl Lagerfeld is his miraculous ability to make every new Chanel collection feel younger, fresher and even more desirable than the last. His latest Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection was a beautiful dream. The sensation of magic travelled from the imaginary bottom of the ocean where the show took place straight to the bottom of our hearts at a speed of light leaving everyone trembling with desire and emotions.
The dresses moving in a manner of algae and waves as if the fabrics were submerged in water, a totally unforgettable chic little black dress with a sharp collar and a few other structured pieces that were very Chanel, the textures of corals and nets, the haute couture pleating adding the lightness, generous sprinkle of pearls in most beautiful golden, silver and rose shades, purely perfect shell-shaped clutch bags, glowing make-up and white, coral or apricot coloured nails that added a very special “ta-dah” touch. Every single detail was a stunning masterpiece. I was glad that there were 80+ looks – I just didn’t want this show to end.
