Love these necklaces so much. Such a perfect final touch to a daily outfit. Hope I won’t miss the moment when they become available. Still trying to decide which one to go for – the all-pastel option or a touch of emerald as it would definitely compliment the ever-changing colour of my eyes.

I wanted to write about Daks Spring 2012 collection ever since I saw it, but talking summer and seaside during cold rainy months felt a bit wrong. It seems that the waiting game isn’t going to be in my favour because the stubborn rain keeps coming back (oh, the unpredictable island-based live we live!), so it’s a now or never time for dreaming of nautical elegance, summer glamour, carefree chic and a few investment pieces.
When compared to many other Spring/Summer 2012 collection out there, Daks didn’t exactly jump out or get crowds talking about it. But then Daks isn’t meant to be worn by crowds but rather women who crave timeless beauty and want to look quietly expensive and comfortable at the same time.
I’ve been in love with their dresses, shirts and long skirts for months now. I can easily picture myself wearing them all the time for years and years, with flat sandals or wedges and a straw bag or leather tote during a day and gladiators and an i-can-fit-in-a-palm-of-your-hand clutch for the evening. Plus a pair of sunglasses and an optional hat.

Another Linda moment today. This editorial is just a month apart away from the story I posted last week, but it’s a perfect example of chameleon appearance Linda was famous for. All gone the blonde locks replaced by a super short brunette hair cut. Just brilliant.

Want to know what’s been bothering me for the last few days? Hair-do’s. We have been invited to a wedding and sorting my hair is proving to be much more complicated than deciding on an outfit. The outfit was sorted in 5 minutes. I am wearing Dvf’s Taffy from Spring 2006 collection, my flower t-bar sandals from 2004 or something like that and a clutch given to me by a special friend. The idea of a hair-do was a simple bun sort of like Lily Bass (or the photo above), very simple-classic-classy style that would compliment the shape of the dress better than long waves. The problem is that my hair, being all natural, untreated, silky and plentiful (not complaining here), doesn’t seem to hold anything, including the bun or hair pins. Highly frustrating, I tell you (here I really am complaining a little). Oh, and I really REALLY do not like using a few liters of hair products on my mane either.
So right now I have another 24 hours to practise that do or go for a ponytail. I will report back next week. Maybe even get a chance to shoot myself – the outfit, hair, make-up and all. As a preview – these are the shoes I picked for the big day.
