Weekend sign off

elle_2006_1

Sometimes I just wish I could wake up on Saturday morning, get served my freshly squeezed carrot & apples (and whatever else I fancy adding to it) juice in bed, cuddle with pupster under a massive duvet cloud and watch a few episodes of Cougar Town that I have recently became addicted to. Instead, I have a long to-do list of things that require my presence including the juice making as nobody else knows the recipes. I am not complaining as most of the things on my list are of a pleasurable kind, but I could really do with an extra hour or two of sleep today and it’s not possible.

So I get up, make the above juice, breakfasts for Mr and pupster, briefly visit the garden, update the blog and get ready to take Oscar for his much anticipated walk. Turns out, that the newly discovered and loved by all three of us park isn’t just “a pretty place”, but a present from Henry VIII to one of his wives’ relatives. In England it is so easy to find yourself submerged in history, it always takes my breath away just to imagine what sort of people might have been walking around and visiting the place and staying in a gorgeous house nearby.

And then I have a hair appointment. You know, I was THIS close to cutting everything off and getting a short bob. I had it in the past and it suited me, so there are moments in time when I stop and wish I had it again. Then the reality kicks in… Plus a strange feeling of love towards my long locks. Somehow I feel that I cannot lose them just like that. And I like to have a long ponytail made of my own hair rather than clip-ons and chignons made of some other Easter European girl’s hair. So there will be no massive change for now, just a trim and a few new layers. Of course, it’s going to rain. It always does. In the last 6 years there was only ONE appointment that wasn’t accompanied by a heavy shower afterwards. One. This is another thing about England. It really does rain a lot here, especially in April.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Always yours,

Natalia Vodianova in Vogue US May 2012

vogue us may2012 5

Woke up this morning just to face the cloudy sky and drizzling rain that I’ll have to face in an hour or so once pupster is ready for his walk (he is enjoying his post-breakfast nap at the moment). Right now am cheering myself up with a glass of freshly made carrot juice and these photos from the latest issue of Vogue US.

Missoni for Converse

missoni-converse-chuck-taylor-spring-summer-2012-1

I admit, it took me a while to get my first pair of Converse, but once me and my new trainers had a walk I was converted. Needless to say, I was excited to hear that Converse teamed up with Missoni for the fifth time to give an iconic zigzag look to Chuck Taylors, one of the Converse legends. The green and cream (officially known as tan) shoes in woven fabric that sparkles thank to silver and gold metallic threads are designed specifically for women. The boys can treat themselves to a navy pair.  I am loving the tan version that would look perfect with jeans or wide off-white linen trousers and also fit a pastel trend brief seamlessly. What do you think?
